The Pathways to Progress mission of our ministry is both our aim and our goal: we want to set our shelter clients on a pathway that lead them to progress out of our shelter, but not before they are ready and have been given all the supportive tools to truly be able to live independently.
We know that there are many paths that can lead to homelessness, and our program works on addressing these issues so they do not become an obstacle in the future.
Thorough 24-hour, 7-day a week non-congregate care, our clients learn how to build their job and life skills with only one goal in mind: living independent, successful lives.
Through our case managers and the support they provide, our women set goals and work toward achieving these goals in a supportive environment that includes 24/7 staff assistance. As our clients reach their goals, our case managers are able to set new, more independent goals that help our clients to move to that next level.
In addition to the in-home work we do with our clients, we also offer group life skills classes to hone in on those areas that ultimately will help to provide that next level of success.
We have one goal: We want to set our clients on the Pathway to Progress. And we get there by putting in the hard work with our clients that empowers and enables them toward independent living.
This program is a one-year pathway.
How Do I Get in This Program?
Before anything, anyone experiencing homelessness is encouraged to call 211 to connect to the resources available in our area. This number is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
The shelter systems in our area requires a screening process, and this can be completed through Strides Shelter. We work with Strides to determine when a client is ready for this next level of care at Austin’s Place at C-U at Home.
